Song of Solomon 2:1 "I am a rose of sharon, a lily of the valleys."
Here the bride speaks of herself as lowly though lovely. Roses, or "lilies" were commonplace and therefore not to be held in high esteem.
Sharon was a valley between Mount Tabor and Lake Tiberias.
"Beauty, delicacy, and lowliness, are to be in her, as they were in Him." (Mt. 11:29)
